George Zaloom is the founder and CEO of GoPlay a Los Angeles-based technology company. The company develops and operates online consumer Internet products – specializing in online social casinos.
Its current offering, GoPlay.com enables land-based casino operators to embed popular Facebook-formatted casino games directly into their own branded websites. GoPlay was a finalist at both the 2013 International Gaming Awards and the 2012 European iGaming Congress Startup Competition. The company also operates: gamestamper.com – a social game distribution platform/API.
Prior to launching Goplay, Zaloom was CEO of ChipzCo where he created FaceChipz.com and giantHello.com – two safe social networks for tweens (ages 7 to 13). He is also an advisor to X17online.com. X17 is the largest celebrity newsgathering entertainment service in Los Angeles. The company’s online properties generate millions of visitors a month.
Preceding Chipzco, George was instrumental in developing two major branded entertainment franchises; one for MediaEdge/Group M Entertainment and the other for Phil Anschutz’s Walden Media. He was also a senior executive at DreamWorks Animation and supervised the production of Kung Fu Panda.
Before that, Zaloom ran ZM Productions, a major independent production company specializing in non-fiction and Family Entertainment. At ZM Zaloom produced the motion picture Encino Man, numerous movies of the week for ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney, and the Back to the Future Animated Series. He also co-created Martha Stewart Living and the Emmy winning documentary Hearts of Darkness. Contracting with all the major studios and networks ZM’s client base included filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Francis Coppola, Robert Zemeckis and George Lucas.
He has spoken at industry conferences such as: ICE, MediaBistro’s Social Gaming Summit, EiG (European iGaming Congress), The Game Monetization Summit, Digital Content Management, Engage, G2E (Global Gaming Expo), The Social Gambling Conference, Toyfair, Bootcamp, United States Senate Digital Summit, The New York Times Symposium and is slated for GiGse 2013, the Berlin Social Gambling Conference and EGR’s Power 24 Summit. He has also lectured at major intuitions such as: The American Film Institute, The University of Southern California, The University of California, Los Angeles and The University of California, Santa Barbara.
Zaloom is a graduate of the University Southern California School of Film & Television. He also proudly served as a firefighter with the Millburn, New Jersey Fire Department. Currently he resides in Pacific Palisades California with his wife, four daughters and two Golden Retrievers.
